To My Shadow Self1.3 Banishing Fear
You have darkness, you have light; you have such a big heart and desire to belong somewhere.
You grew up so fast, took on burdens you could never own, fled your childhood innocence to escape the fear of being not enough.
That child hasn’t left you yet. But while you searched the world for all the things to make you whole, you left behind the most important part of you.
You are not the armor you surround yourself with.
You are not the walls you raise to keep the world out.
You are that searching, emotional little boy.
Embrace forgiveness, reach far back for it. All the way back to your childhood. Put aside your resentment and ask your higher self, “why did I choose these parents”?
Why show up asking for something they couldn’t offer?
Why plant desire in a desert?
In the end, it made my roots sink deeper and my branches climb higher. To reach out with my desire and grasp only empty air was terrifying and liberating at the same time. For in this freefall, the spiritual being found its wings and little by little taught the earthling to trust in it.
I chose this desert to starve myself of safety. To have my desire bared naked in the sterile desert dust, unspoiled and untouched by earthly influence. To allow the seeds to burn and suffer until spirit activated them, bringing forth a new healing forest, a mighty tree to shade others for eons to come.
Now that you see what the Spirit has in store for you, release your worries of being without. Allow youself to be still and know the wind will blow you where you need to be.
