3.5 Feeding the Soul
The idea of “bad energies” is fundamentally a theory of matter: our thoughts are not our own but are whispers emanating from a cosmic hive of energy we call the soul. What ancient religions and astrologists seem to put together was the mythos of the gods in heaven was a reflection of the mental dialogue played out inside our head. A more creative picture than just the traditional left-shoulder demon & right-shoulder angel; in fact a whole pantheon of deities representing our different aspirations and inner desires!
Once we can decode the riddles of our soul with these metaphors, we are ready to activate them into our daily living with spiritually suggestive activities. This can take many forms such as: taking on mantras, different forms of meditation, yoga poses to target an emotional release, playing musical instruments, practicing dream interpretation, reciting incantations, setting intentions under the full moon, and anything else that exercises our spiritual limbs.
Science without religion is lame; religion without science is blind
Each of these arts can activate different parts of our spiritual DNA, which through the archetypes we can triage more precisely.
This means by bringing awareness to these different actors inside our psyche, we are more aware of what psychic channels are available to us and how to use them. You’d find that this analogy of our life being like a play is found throughout astrology, free masonry, going back to the roots of hermeticism and the early Christian mystics. The gods play their part to influence the plot and events of our lives but ultimately we choose how to respond – This represents the tension between fate and free will that we must bring into balance. The study of magick developed by these ancient schools is learning to see clearly the stage set before us and how we want to alchemize its agents to go in the direction we desire.
Through the power of perception we can even understand how affixing affirmations in our own mind (through incantations, spells, hypnosis, or anything else generally categorized as a psychic activity) not only have a tremendous impact on our own psyche, but as the chains and constraints begin to fall off our own worldview does the world, in turn, open up before you and manifest miracles.
